Mulligan Barn Fire 7-26-14
Saturday, at 1252 hours, the East Avon Fire Department, with automatic mutual assistance from the Rush Volunteer Fire Department and Livonia Fire Department, were dispatched to 5403 Barber Road, for a reported barn on fire.
Also responding to assist were the Avon, NY Fire Department, Lima FD, Caledonia Fire Department, Hemlock FD, "Lakeville Vol Fire Dept", Geneseo FD, Scottsville Fire Department, Mumford FD, York FD, Avon Ambulance, Town of Avon Highway Department, Livingston County Emergency Management and Livingston County Sheriff's Office. The fire originated in hay being loaded into the barn. Lost in the fire were a skid steer, about 600 large square bales of straw, and three of the sixty cows inside were injured. Mulligan Farm staff were able to get them out of the barn quickly.
